Branch, The

Messier, M.
When a young girl’s favourite tree branch is broken during an ice storm she is heartbroken and fondly remembers how she sat and played on that branch over the years. The girl is so disappointed to lose the branch, but her neighbour tells her of the potential that branch holds, and she envisions new uses for her broken branch. The story will help students in K-5 learn about creativity, design thinking, teamwork, and building useful items from what appear to be unusable objects. Suitable for independent reading or as a read-aloud. Rich, colourful illustrations support the text and will appeal to readers.
