Cave of Departure (Book 1 - The Estorian Chronicles)

Dominique, the main character in this story, has the misfortune of not receiving his father’s presence or blessing in the community. He is considered to be different from the beginning and is not fully accepted, especially by the other boys. He prefers the company of the women and their stories. Without his father’s presence Dominique is unable to learn his father's stories or to tell them. Banished for this he learns to find his father and his voice.
