Chief Goose

Bowden, M.
Winter is approaching and Chief Goose needs to move his people to a warmer spot for the season. As some of his attempts fail, the Chief perseveres and learns that being a good leader includes listening to others and accepting help in order to be successful. This contemporary and engaging Canadian story for grades K-4 deals with topics of leadership, cooperation, and teamwork, and could be used as a read-aloud for Language Arts, to encourage class discussions, to launch writing and art projects, and as a cross-curricular resource to incorporate First Peoples’ principles and beliefs into Science and Social Studies lessons.
