Child of Dandelions

Set in Uganda in 1972, during the dictatorship of the military president, General Idi Amin, this novel deals with the forced expulsion of the East Indians. The story is told from the point-of-view of fifteen year old Sabine, a Ugandan born East Indian. At first, her family is unwilling to give up their home and business. However, as the violence increases, her mother and father are forced to flee the country, leaving Sabina to save her little brother and herself.
