Clementine

Pennypacker, S
Eight-year-old Clementine is having a disastrous week – at school she is a regular visitor to the principal's office, in trouble for cutting her best friend Margaret's hair or not paying attention in class, and at home she worries about Margaret's angry mother and being the "hard" child. As Clementine tries to make sense of her world, she is fortunate to have kind parents who help to sort out her problems. This humourous novel for grades 2-5 would be a suitable read-aloud book, guided novel study, or lit circle selection, and useful to promote discussion about friendship, paying attention in school, and family relationships. The first in a 7-book series about Clementine.
