Homeland Security kidnaps and detains Kamran but, with the help of a sympathetic CIA agent, he makes a daring escape, and embarks on a series of dangerous adventures on his cross-country search for his brother. This engaging novel, suitable for secondary students, deals with issues of trust, stereotyping, social justice, friendship, and family, and could be used for novel study, independent reading, and lit circles.
