Code.org (Grades 8-12)

This comprehensive website aims to provide easy access so every student can have the opportunity to learn coding. The projects are engaging and fun for students and it also provides a place where educators can learn the basics of Computer Science so they can teach their classes. Thoughtfully prepared lesson plans include pre-requisite learning, introductory ideas, vocabulary, main content and extensions, and assessment of learning. Students can complete self-paced courses or follow along with assigned work to complete creative coding tasks. Activities are simple at first and become more complex as students progress. Teachers can assign appropriate activities based on a student’s skill level.
