Crossroads: My Story of Tragedy and Resilience as a Humboldt Bronco
This is a memoir written from the point of view of Kaleb Dahlgren, one of the survivors of the Humboldt Broncos deadly bus collision. While honouring his teammates, the story also details his own development as a hockey player and how his life has changed following the accident. A story about resiliency and relationships, Dahlgren offers a straightforward account of his experiences and the ongoing challenges he faces as a survivor. In a senior secondary classroom, the story may be especially engaging for students who share the author’s love of sport and community service and lends itself to small group or individual reading.
