Crow-Girl, The

Bredsdorff, Bodil
This is a wonderful book about a girl who lives in Denmark with her grandmother. She gathers mussels and kale, and cooks and for both of them until her grandmother dies. But before her death, the grandmother teaches the girl three valuable lessons which will serve her well as she sets off to find her way in nearby hamlets. Crow-Girl’s work ethic and sensitive nature, as well as her attitudes and outlook on life provide a rich and eye-opening experience for our youth.
