Danny, the Champion of the World

Dahl, Roald
Following the familiar formula of many of Dahl’s books, the narrative relates the story of Danny, a boy who lives with his father. Together, father and son hatch a plan to poach pheasants from Victor Hazell, a wealthy businessman who lives nearby. Their goal is to nab more pheasants than have ever been poached in a single night, thus making Danny the ‘Champion of the World.’
