Darkwing

This is another novel about bats from Kenneth Oppel, the writer of Silverwing and Sunwing. It takes a place during the period when prehistoric bats are evolving from gliders to flyers with echolocation abilities. Dusk, the main character, is met with fear and distrust due to his physical differences. However, his unique abilities prove to be invaluable as his society is forced to relocate while being challenged by a variety of predators.
