Dinner, The

Koch, H.
Two brothers and their wives meet for dinner to discuss their teenage sons' crime and ponder whether they should hide the evidence or turn their boys in to the police. Each course of the meal parallels sections of the novel, as they get deeper into their debate about the potential consequence of the boys' actions and the impending effects the crime will have on each family. The novels raises questions about wealth and access to justice, parents protecting their children from consequences of crimes, indifference to the needy, and privilege. Suitable for grades 11 and 12, the novel is a study of how one error can change a person's life forever.
