Einstein the Penguin

Right before Christmas, the Stewart family receives a visit from Einstein, a little penguin they saw on a visit to the London Zoo. Einstein has come to stay, and while they all adjust to their new living arrangements the Stewart family realizes he needs their help as he searches for his missing friend Issac. As the family assists Einstein, he in turn helps the family in unexpected ways. This entertaining story for grades K-4 deals with compassion and empathy and is suitable as a read-aloud with younger students and for independent reading for older students. Useful to discuss story elements and to launch writing and creative and critical thinking activities.
