Ender's Game

Card, Orson Scott
Although science fiction, this novel will appeal to a broad audience. Strong readers in grade 8, or perhaps even in grade 7, all the way through to adults will be able to appreciate this book. It is very well written, and contains fine character development. The book will inspire meaningful discussions. The novel links to many curricular areas: human rights; multiculturalism; children’s rights; and politics and the military. It could even tie with inquiries into space travel and zero gravity.
