The Familiars

Aldwyn the cat, Skylar the blue jay, and Gilbert the tree frog are familiars to three wizards and when their humans are captured by the usually kind queen, who has suddenly turned evil, the three travel throughout the kingdom using magic and ingenuity to overcome obstacles in their quest to rescue their humans. The trio defeat the queen, who is actually a shape shifter who imprisoned the real queen, and free their humans. This action-packed, suspenseful fantasy story explores teamwork, perseverance, betrayal, and trust and can be used for a class read-aloud or a class or school library selection.
