Fight for History, The: 75 Years of Forgetting, Remembering, and Remaking Canada's Second World War
This resource examines Canadian involvement in World War II and how it was almost forgotten, and attempts to explain the discrepancy between the participation of the Canadian forces and how their contribution has been both underplayed and misunderstood. Using quotations from veterans, family members of soldiers, news articles, and policy makers it aims to preserve the memories, bring attention to the achievement of the veterans, and pay tribute to the sacrifices they made. The text is accompanied by black-and-white images of people, events, posters, and monuments which graphically support the content. A useful student and teacher resource and school library addition.
