Flora and the Peacocks

Idle, M.
When Flora sees two beautifully coloured peacocks, she wishes to join their dance but only one of the peacocks responds and the second is jealous. When Flora encourages her to join in, too, then the first becomes upset, leading to a tiff between the three. Eventually they resolve their dispute and the three become friends. The vibrant art and use of flaps in this wordless picture book moves the action along and will delight children in K-2. The book offers opportunity to discussion three-way friendships and making new friends, and lends itself to a variety of art, writing, and storytelling projects.
