Fly Fly

Anctil, D.
This realistically illustrated picture book for grades K-4 showcases animals of the Pacific Northwest in their natural habitats. Each two-page spread illustrates an animal or group of animals in a particular ecosystem with detail given to the natural landscape, including vegetation, bodies of water, and the sky, and with each page flowing from sunrise to night fall. The language is very simple, and introduces specific vocabulary for each ecosystem. Useful for read-aloud, partner-reading, grammar lessons, vocabulary building, exploring ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest, and examples of colour, perspective, and motion in art.
