Flying Lessons & Other Stories
This collection of short stories, written by different authors, has family relationships as the overlying theme, and family lessons to be learned. Each story focuses on a different type of character in a different life situation, and children may be able to see parts of themselves, their friends, and their families in one or more of the stories. The stories could be used as literacy circle readings or whole-class readings, and they lend themselves to discussions about personal values, family life, and lessons learned from family and life experiences. Suitable for grade 5-8 students.
