Food Rules
Food writer Michael Pollan offers 64 rules that readers can use to take a fresh look at what they are eating at home and in restaurants. The author recommends eating fresh, wholesome food rather than processed food, and students can examine their own diets and compare them to his recommendations. Each rule is independently presented, which allows users to jump into the book at any point, and many are written in simple, easy-to-understand language. Useful for grades 8-12, it can encourage critical thinking as students examine why each rule would have been written, promote discussion and debate of each rule, and prompt research to examine and share the findings on the various ideas.
