Forgetting, The
In the city of Canaan chaos occurs every twelve years when everyone loses their memories and must depend on the record of their lives they keep in journals. Nadia is different—she remembers everything, both the kindness and cruelty associated with the Forgetting, and when she and her friend Gray attempt to unravel the mystery of Caanan and explore outside the city walls, they find both answers and danger. This exciting dystopian novel will engage students in grades 10-12 and is suited to a literature circle or class novel and to encourage discussion and critical thinking about ethical issues, the impact of forgetting everything, and how one would react in Nadia’s situation.
