Ghosts of Heaven, The

This engaging novel is written as four interrelated stories, each with different characters and in different styles, that tell of human development in the Stone Age, Medieval times, in a lunatic asylum, and through space travel. The quarters can be read in any order and are interconnected by a character finding and responding to a spiral. Suitable for grades 9-12, it can serve as a springboard for creative writing or study of symbols, or in-depth inquiry of mental health issues, space travel, Medieval law, or development of written language.
