Girl With a Baby, The

Jane Williams is 14 years old and the successful student in her aboriginal family when she discovers she is pregnant. After concealing her pregnancy, she experiences the shock and censure of fellow students and the white neighbourhood in which she lives. The book, while presenting the struggles of this young single mother, also illustrates the hope and strength that can be drawn from a supportive community.
