Girl in the Backseat, The

Jacob’s blended family take a road trip from Vancouver to Winnipeg to get his sister, Minerva, to university. He and Minerva find a girl stowaway in the Mini’s backseat, before even leaving BC. Toby is running away from her religious community because she is scared of the beliefs she must live up to. The siblings keep Toby’s secret until her father finds her and tries to take her back.
