Goldfish Boy, The

Thompson, L.
Matthew, a 12 year-old boy with OCD, spends his days in one room of his house, watching his neighbours from his window and taking notes on their comings and goings. When a child next door goes missing, he has the most insight into what happened, but to solve the mystery, he must overcome his fears and admit the extent of his illness. This book, for grades 4-7, accurately portrays someone suffering from OCD and can facilitate deeper discussions about mental illnesses, acceptance, diversity, and integration that would support tolerance and develop further positive classroom cultures.
