Goodnight Hockey Fans
A young boy is watching the hockey game with his family but before the game ends he must head off to bed and worries he won’t be able to sleep. Once tucked into bed he turns on his dad’s old radio to listen to the game, and with Foster Hewitt’s voice in his ear, he drifts off to sleep and dreams he is playing hockey and scores the winning goal. This Canadian picture book for K-3 will be an engaging read-aloud, appropriate for early readers to read independently, with a partner, or in a guided reading lesson, and to encourage discussion of personal interests, dreams, and night-time thoughts and worries.
