Gypsy Crown, The

Emelia’s family are jailed when they attend a fair in a nearby town, with the goal of raising some money for a dowry. Luka, her cousin, manages to escape from the jail. Both thirteen year olds return to their grandmother, who advises them to seek help from other family members, and to obtain good luck charms from each of them. Fervent pursuit by a government official makes this task nearly impossible to accomplish. Determination and magic serve to help them overcome obstacles and danger.
