Half-breed
Though the evaluators had serious concerns about recommending this book, the value of the story and its importance to society outweighed the numerous social considerations it contains. The autobiography illustrates the author's joys, sorrows, poverty, oppression and experiences as a mixed-race woman in Canadian society.
