Hannah & the Spindle Whorl

Shaw, C.
Hannah, a grade six girl, is struggling to accept the death of her mother, caused by a car accident. On her way home from Max's, through a forest trail, Hannah discovers a cave with an aboriginal artifact, a spindle whorl in it. Revisiting the cave later, Hannah experiences time travel, meeting Yisella, an aboriginal girl who lived near Cowichan Bay 150 years earlier. Through her trip, she learns some things about aboriginal culture and then returns home.
