Hey, Kiddo
Jarrett lives with his grandparents from a young age but isn’t sure where his mother is or who his father is and he tries to lead a normal life despite not knowing. In his teen years he seeks answers to these questions and learns that his mother is a heroin addict who is in and out of jail and he reaches out to his absent father. This coming-of-age story follows Jarrett’s voyage of self-discovery as he learns how to cope with circumstances beyond his control. This accessible graphic novel memoir deals with drug addiction and its impact on family, family relationships, self-identity, and creativity.
