How to Steal a Dog

Georgina's father abandons her family and leaves them homeless and impoverished. Georgina decides to help her family afford a new home by stealing a dog and then returning it in order to claim the reward money. She becomes friends with a vagrant who is staying near where she hides the dog; she also befriends the owner of the dog. As the story progresses, she struggles with guilt and becomes entangled in her dishonesty.
