Human Rights Watch

This extensive website has hundreds of articles about human rights issues around the world, many of them with accompanying images and video. The content is easily searchable, with clearly defined search parameters. A ‘Resources for Educators' page has videos about Human Rights that teachers could use to introduce topics to students. Useful for grades 9-12, students could browse the site and report on a topic they discover, use the site for research, use the site’s exemplars to create their own report on problems in their community, or the class could sign up for the daily report to keep up-to-date with current events. Social considerations are noted.
