Hunter

Walters, E.
Hunter, a young tomcat living with his mate and kittens in a feral colony, is a great hunter but is also a threat to King, the leader of the colony, because of his valuable hunting skills. When their colony is threatened by urban development, Hunter must decide whether to trust a young boy, who has always been kind to the cats, in order to save his family, but this idea collides with King’s and threatens the future of the cat colony. This adventure story, told from Hunter’s point of view, would be suitable for a classroom or school library and could be an appropriate read-aloud based on the maturity level of their students. Social considerations noted; teacher preview recommended.
