I Want to Be a Vase

Torres, J.
A household plunger wants a career change and decides to become a vase. Some of its friends in the house are not supportive of the decision, including the vacuum who believes every item is made for only one specific job. Others, though, are very supportive and they, too, would like to change careers. As the plunger begins the process of becoming a vase, the household items learn how to support one another in achieving their goals. This humorous story, suitable as a read-aloud, can prompt discussion of goal setting, becoming whatever one wants to be, following dreams, positive personal identity, supporting friends in achieving their goals, and accepting all people and their choices in life.
