If You Could be Mine

Seventeen-year-old Sahar has been in love with her best friend, Nasrin, since they were six but they live in Iran where homosexuality is strictly forbidden. The struggles faced by LGBTQ people in Iran would provide students the opportunity to discuss the differences in laws between countries and the unethical treatment of the lesbian, gay, and transgender population. In addition, the laws and treatment of women in Iran would also serve as discussion points.
