Ebo, a Ghanaian orphan left with his uncle when his sister went to Europe to find work and when his brother set off to follow her, decides to find his brother and join him in the journey to Europe. The two face many challenges, including danger, violence, illness, and possible death, as they travel through the Sahara Desert and across the Mediterranean Sea to find freedom, family, and safety.
