Three very different children – William an oblate, Jacob a Jewish boy, and Jeanne a peasant girl with prophetic visions – and Jeanne’s dog Gwenforte flee persecution in Medieval Europe, and band together on a quest to save Jewish holy writings from the King’s decreed book-burning, at a time when Christianity is trying to triumph over Islam and Judaism.
