Journey North: Tracking Migrations and Seasons

An online database created by citizen scientists, “Journey North” allows users to record several organisms' migration patterns; students and teachers can document observations, share them on a worldwide platform, and access related information about various organisms and their migratory patterns through the seasons. The resource offers background information and extensive resources that may be used in a K–12 classroom as stand-alone activities or can be integrated into a more in-depth study. In the classroom, the website could be used for a whole-class exploration or small-group or independent inquiry. Students may be encouraged to discuss meaningful questions about the natural world and use the resource to support their learning.
