It’s Iris’s job to push the elevator buttons, and it is a task that she takes seriously. But one day, one of her younger siblings learns to press the button. Her jealousy and anger transport her to other worlds—magical, make-believe worlds where she escapes, learns, and grows—eventually returning to reality where she can come to terms with her feelings. A picture book that combines with elements of a graphic novel, this story is suitable for a primary audience, and young readers may be encouraged to discuss times when they have felt similarly to Iris.
