Korman, G.
When a swastika is painted on the wall of a middle school in small-town Colorado, students, staff, and the entire town are shocked and shaken, especially as more swastikas appear on the school grounds. To fight back against racism, the school embarks on tolerance education and learns about the Holocaust, and the school and community make paper chains to symbolize Jewish lives lost during WWII. This middle-school chapter book, told by multiple narrators, offers students the opportunity to learn about anti-Semitism, explore issues of racism, culture, tolerance, acceptance, redemption, forgiveness, and expand their understanding of intercultural issues and the impact of social media.
