Littlest Bigfoot, The

Weiner, J.
Alice feels different and uncomfortable with herself, a feeling shared by her parents who send her to boarding schools because of her ungainly appearance and clumsiness, and her new peers who bully and humiliate her. Millie lives an isolated life with her tribe, where she doesn’t quite fit in, and when she sneaks away to see the outside world she and Alice meet and form a secret friendship but Jeremy, also socially isolated, threatens to expose Millie as a Bigfoot. This engaging novel—first of a trilogy—is suitable for independent reading for grade 6-7 and would support investigations and discussions of bullying, stereotyping, discrimination, friendship, sexting, and paranormal questions.
