Lulu's Mysterious Mission

Viorst, J.
When Lulu’s parents go on a vacation without her, she must stay with a babysitter she doesn’t like, and she tries everything to get her in trouble. But when Lulu learns that her babysitter was once a spy, this changes everything, and it becomes a relationship Lulu wants to keep learning from. This mystery novel uses descriptive language that complements the adventure and provides text and visuals that convey the characters’ emotions. The book lends itself well in a Grade 2–4 classroom as a class read-aloud or in small groups. Teachers may use the novel to explore perspectives through various writing activities and creative and playful ways to express language. This story may also serve as a helpful resource to teach decision-making and the consequences of our decisions.
