Maybe Something Beautiful: How Art Transformed a Neighborhood

Inspired by and illustrated by artist Rafael Lopez, “Maybe Something Beautiful” is a bright and colourful story about how one girl, Mira, was able to transform and inspire her whole neighbourhood by creating art on a blank wall while inviting neighbours to come together and do the same. A story of creativity, collaboration, and community, this joyful narrative highlights how communities can unite through a collaborative project. Students in Grade K–9 can engage with this book in the classroom by using it to explore murals, social responsibility, as well as the historical fiction genre.
