Me, Me, Me’s Angry Me, The

Neilson, A.
A young alien wakes up angry every day and even tiny things set him off. This particular day everything goes wrong – he can’t find his shoe, he falls down the stairs, he can’t find his bicycle – and each event makes his anger grow and he screams, shouts, and jumps up and down, until he meets Mellow Yellow and when they play a game that distracts him, Angry Me calms down. This colourful picture book provides a look at triggers that can cause anger, what it can feel like to be angry, how some people react when angry, and how to calm down. A useful read-aloud for PreK-3, it can spark discussion of emotions that children feel and how to use communication techniques to express their feelings.
