Midnight for Charlie Bone

This fantasy adventure introduces Charlie Bone, a character who seems to be an ordinary boy, until he suddenly discovers that he can hear the words and thoughts of people in old photos. When his evil grandmother discovers that Charlie has this power, she takes this as proof that he is “endowed” and a descendant of the Red King. She then sends him to Bloor’s Academy, a boarding school for children who are rich and endowed with magical powers.
