Monday Is One Day

Levine, A. A.
This picture book addresses how difficult it is for working parents and their children to be apart on work days and shows how parents connect with their children before they leave for work on Monday through Friday, and how Saturdays and Sundays are days to treasure time spent as a family. Using simple, rhyming text, the book portrays family diversity in a caring way, illustrating many different types of families and families who live in different settings. Suitable as a read-aloud for K-1, it can foster discussion of family and community diversity.
