While the disappearance of millions of honeybees in recent years is not as publicized as climate change, its effects on human life could be felt sooner and more severely. This ecological mystery has not been conclusively solved. But the usual suspects: habitat loss, pesticides, suppressed immune systems, viruses, among others, may all work together to create a perfect storm that has overwhelmed the little, but very important and beautifully adapted honeybee.
