Nerdy Birdy

Reynolds, A.
Nerdy Birdy likes to read books and play video games and wants to be part of the cool bird group, but they do not want him as a friend. Nerdy Birdy discovers other nerdy birds and realizes that being different is okay and that friendship is based on liking each other, not necessarily being similar or even enjoying the same things. This story for PreK-3 explores belonging, friendship, acceptance, individuality, identity, and celebrating difference. It allows students to reflect on who they are and how they fit into the world around them.
