Homecoming queen and track star Krissy is shocked when a gynaecologist’s appointment reveals she is intersex, and when it becomes public knowledge at her school, she is bullied and withdraws. Her life worsens when she is violently attacked because of her intersexuality, but eventually she comes to terms with the diagnosis and discovers ways to heal, move forward, and strengthen the relationships that matter most to her. Suitable as a literature circle selection for Law 12 and Social Justice 12 and as an independent novel choice in English Language Arts, the novel deals with timely issues of bullying, gender, homophobia, intersexuality, relationships, and identity.
