Not a Drop to Drink
Sixteen-year-old Lynn and her mother are some of the fortunate few who have access to water on their rural farm and their lives revolve around protecting their precious water source from everyone, using any means possible. They have no need for other people until Lynn faces a major challenge for which she is not prepared. The novel explores conflict, accepting help from others, the difference between right and wrong, how far one would go to protect loved ones, and centres on sustainability and the importance of access to clean water. Suitable as a class, independent, or literature circle novel, and to encourage discussions on the climate crisis, the use of natural resources, and environmental policies.
